The Mangar Ekamove is a patient positioning system designed to gently and quietly turn patients without the intervention of a healthcare professional. Depending on the needs of the patient requiring care, the turning system can easily be adjusted and tailored to their individual requirements.
When placed under a mattress the Ekamove inflates an air chamber system, which then slowly and safely lifts the person lying on it at an angle set between 0 to 30 degrees.
Using the Ekamove will not only provide benefits for the patient but for the health care professionals in care homes too.
For patients using the Ekamove it provides pressure relief and helps increase the healing of any pressure wounds. Also, it’s a non-intrusive system and is extremely quiet, therefore allows patients to sleep soundly without any interruption of manual handling from nursing staff.
When it comes to those working in care homes, using the Mangar Ekamove limits the need for any manual handling, therefore reducing the overall risk of injury when lifting. It gives carers full control over patient care with a range of flexible turning options that can be tailored to the patient’s individual needs. This personalised data can then be backed up by the system and tracked using a memory card, meaning the patient turning information can be accessed over and over again.
We believe the Ekamove will help save time for a care home team as once everything has been programmed the rest of the process is automated.
Designed for those whose disability or illness means they have to spend long periods of time lying down or for those who have difficulty changing their position when lying down, the Ekamove is the perfect patient turning solution for a care home environment. This could include people with pre-existing decubitus ulcers, with moderate to high risk of decubitus ulcers or for people who have suffered a stroke with partial paralysis.
The Ekamove is an automated, sensor controlled patient positioning system which can be programmed to meet the individual needs of the patient. It is designed to gently and quietly turn patients up to 30°, without the intervention of a healthcare professional.
