What happens if I get a puncture?

The incidences of puncture are rare. If a puncture does occur, then only the section of cushion with the damage would be affected – the remaining three will still operate. The lifting cushion will not burst like a balloon and there is no risk of injury to the patient from a rapid descent. If the puncture is small, then the cushion would still work though there would be an audible leak. Punctures cannot be repaired due to the pressure and load and damaged units have to be replaced.

Nothing but trouble keeping it charged. We have the Elk 24 and have replaced the battery twice and the compressor once. Charges up fine following instructions for first time charge but once the unit is kept in the onboard mount with 12 volts changed to 24 volts in mount it soon becomes useless. The batteries stop charging and all charge status lights blink off and on. Call and leave messages no one calls back. This is in USA and used in EMS. Replacement unit failed on first use in field.
Excellent product. We placed this product on our ambulance. With the ELK there is not need to pull on the patient's arms or under the shoulders to lift them off the floor. It is better for the patient and the providers. It has kept us from needing to call our volunteer fire department as often for lift assists. Longevity: it has lasted 10 years maybe? We are just now replacing the compressor. The pillow is still in great shape. It is compact and easy to move and use. Highly recommend for anyone needing a lifting device. I only know of one other company in our county that has one and that is a personal care home.
I'm a nurse who is also the full-time caregiver for my mom with MS. She's 73 and wheelchair bound. She falls fairly often when her legs give out during self transfers. We had been calling for help from 911 when she fell because she is too heavy for me to lift by myself. We finally purchased this cushion and it is fantastic! I'm able to get her up by myself and without much difficulty. I know it isn't cheap but we were looking at having to get an electric house lift for each level of the house whereas this is easily carried from upstairs to downstairs. I can't recommend this enough!
I am writing to express my appreciation of this marvelous invention. The Elk emergency lifting cushion has made our daily living more serene and rids us of the constant fear of recovery from falls. The fact too that this equipment can be taken with me on holiday away from home is a special advantage.
when I purchased an Elk from your stockist recently it was as a precaution, and not with the intention of using it in the near future. However, my wife’s crutch slipped on Thursday afternoon and she fell. Compared with what we’ve been through on previous occasions when that happened, last Thursday was a doddle. A marvelous product!”
The Elk has been of great benefit when needed and gives me peace of mind to know it is available
