What happens if I get a puncture?

The incidences of puncture are rare. If a puncture does occur, then only the section of cushion with the damage would be affected – the remaining three will still operate. The lifting cushion will not burst like a balloon and there is no risk of injury to the patient from a rapid descent. If the puncture is small, then the cushion would still work though there would be an audible leak. Punctures cannot be repaired due to the pressure and load and damaged units have to be replaced.

Am I eligible for VAT relief?

If you are chronically sick or disabled, you may be able to claim VAT relief on the Bathing Cushion. Guidance on eligibility can be found on the HRMC website.

Can bath oils and oil-based products be used with my Bathing Cushion?

Yes, except products that contain peanut oil.

Can I leave the battery on charge all the time?

Yes, and we recommend you do. The Airflo 12 and the Airflo 24 may remain continuously on charge when not in use as the batteries cannot be overcharged.

Can I over inflate my lifting cushion?

No. The Airflo 24 will stop once full pressure is realized.

How do I clean the Bathing Cushion?

We would recommend that you rinse the Bathing Cushion with clean water after each bath and leave it to dry while still inflated. It can of course be dried with a towel before removal from the bath for storing.
To ensure maximum adhesiveness we would also suggest you remove the Bathing Cushion from the bath at least once a week and clean the bottom of the suction cups as well as the surface of the bath.

How much water do I put in the bath?

Once you have placed the Bathing Cushion in the bath and inflated it, just fill your bath with water to the level you would normally.

Who is eligible for VAT relief?

To be eligible for VAT relief the government says you have to fit the following criteria:

    1. Charities – with a registered charity number.
    2. A person is ‘chronically sick or disabled‘ if he/she is a person:

    ✔ With a physical or mental impairment which has a long-term and substantial adverse effect upon his/her ability to carry out everyday activities;

✔ Have a condition that doctors treat as a chronic sickness (e.g. diabetes).

    ✔ Who is terminally ill.

Guidance on eligibility is available from the National Advice Service on 0300 200 3700.

    • You won’t qualify if you are only temporarily disabled or incapacitated, such as suffering from a broken leg or another temporary injury.
    • Neither will you qualify if you are elderly but are otherwise able-bodied and don’t suffer from any chronic condition.

The product worked great initially, but found that after 6-8 months it failed more then it worked. In period of 5 years we have replaced the batteries 3 times and the machine serviced once. Although hugely useful when working but is also hugely inconvenient when not.
Great idea, and Very good product, , you actually get to sit IN the water, not above it like the bath seeats I have tried before. Manger staff are fabulous to deal with, helpful and thoughtful.
I have had my bathing cushion since 2014 and what a godsend
I like my bathing cushion but find it slippery to sit on when I've washed with soap free baby lotion, especially as the back blows up first and pushes me forward, so I have to keep stopping it and re position myself. If I didn't have sufficient upper body strength I would have a problem because of this.
Brilliant idea received mine from occupational health I am now on my fourth one in less than a year because they keep breaking down , not good when wont re inflate when you are in the bath and have to have a carer to help get out of the bath, So happy I did not have to pay for it, The previous design was much better had for 3 years before it had to be replaced
I love everything about it. The instructions are clear and in English, everything is sturdy and reliable. I can get into the bath easily, lower myself totally then stop halfway up to do my feet. Getting out is a doddle. Why didn't I buy this earlier? I was worried it wouldn't be worth the money -- well it is!! Thank you.
From ordering the Bathing Cushion to delivery – 3 days! Amazing. The Cushion is splendid and has given me back my independence as I can now cope alone in the bathroom.
The Bathing Cushion is wonderful! I have had my first bath in 6 years (due to disability) and it was so comfortable. Without it I cannot get in and out of the bath. I would not hesitate to recommend your products to anyone with disability
one of the most helpful aids I have – I feel completely safe and comfortable and it is a real luxury to be able to soak in a bath of hot water for the first time for several years. Thank you.
They say Miracles seldom happen but for me the Mangar Bathing Cushion is one. Increasingly crippled by Arthritis I found it agony to climb into my ancient narrow bathtub but now I can sit comfortably back and be lifted into the bath and when I am ready lifted out agin. It does all the work for me in blissful comfort.
Your Bathing Cushion is very much more comfortable, and as it is larger, it is very much more stable too….A soak in a lovely warm bath is very much more comforting and soothing than a shower…..I am very sure that the Bathing Cushion will give me many years of ‘Happy Bathing'”.
I would like you to know what a literal ‘Godsend’ your Bathing Cushion has been to me. I am 91 years old and have had increasing osteoarthritis for the past 50 years and have been unable to have a bath because I am unable to get in and out unaided. Now I have the Bathing Cushion I can get in and out of the bath without help, giving me the invaluable advantage of living alone and independently. A very sincere thank you, It has opened up a whole new world to me.
